Congratulations! One doctoral student and two master students in the laboratory successfully passed their thesis defenses.

On May 13, 2026, the thesis defense for the 2026 postgraduate students of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Guangzhou Medical University was held in Conference Room 529 of the Science and Technology Building, Panyu Campus. After rigorous academic review and intense defense sessions, doctoral student A and master students B and C from the laboratory successfully passed their defenses.

The thesis title of doctoral student Yingying Hou is "Research on the Method and Application of Volumetric Bioprinting of Porous Hydrogels Based on Aqueous Two-Phase Bioinks". This project has developed structurally controllable and interconnected porous hydrogel scaffolds using aqueous two-phase emulsion bioinks combined with volumetric bioprinting technology for the regenerative repair of volumetric muscle loss and skin wounds.

The thesis title of master student Xinrong Hu is "Research on the Method of Multi-Material/Multi-Cell Volumetric Bioprinting for Full-Thickness Skin". This project successfully achieved multi-material and multi-cellular volumetric bioprinting, and thereby constructed a full-thickness skin model exhibiting excellent interfacial mechanical properties, cell viability, proliferation capacity, and specific protein secretion.

The thesis title of master student Jinpeng Chen is "Research on Constructing Heterogeneous Structures with Multi-Materials and Multi-Cells Using Embedded Volumetric Bioprinting Strategy". This project proposes a novel 3D bioprinting strategy that integrates aqueous two-phase phase separation mechanisms with embedded-volumetric bioprinting, aiming to achieve high-precision and high-biocompatibility fabrication of multi-material, multi-cellular heterogeneous structures for the in vitro construction of complex tissue and organ models.
